In 2003 the International Diabetes Federation and the International Society of Nephrology jointly issued a publication in order to draw attention to Kidney disease as one of the main complications of diabetes.

World Action on Salt and Health (WASH)

ISN supports the World Action on Salt and Health (WASH) – a new global organization of medical experts from 48 countries working together to reduce dietary intake of salt and highlight the health risks of too much salt.

High Blood Pressure Coalition

The report put together by the London School of Economics in collaboration with the Karolinska University in Stockholm and supported by an eminent group of major regional and international societies in the fields of hypertension, cardiology, stroke, diabetes and nephrology (including ISN) launched at the European Parliament, calls for an immediate concerted public policy effort to manage the threat posed by high blood pressure. The report found that while high blood pressure already affects one in four adults globally, by the year 2025 it is likely to affect 1.56 billion and immediate action needs to be taken.
