A brief bio of Dr. Kirpal S. Chugh

Dr. Kirpal S. Chugh (1932 – ) Kirpal Chugh is one of the great pioneers in Indian nephrology. He was the first Indian physician to train in nephrology, and established the first nephrology training program in India at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, where he has worked since 1963. In 1970 he was one of the founders of the Indian Society of Nephrology, and he is a past ISN Councillor (1999-2005). He has trained several generations of nephrologists who are now leaders in nephrology in India and in many parts of the world.
