Dr. Selma El Khayat

S. S. El KhayatGraduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Rabat in 2003, I completed my post-graduate training at University Hospital Center Ibn Rochd of Casablanca, received my speciality diploma in Nephrology in 2007 and passed the competition of assistant professor in Nephrology 2009. I am Associate Professor of Nephrology since 2013. I also hold a university diploma in biostatistics and perceptual measures of health.

As a clinician, I was responsible for two years of clinical nephrology unit and since 2011 of renal transplantation unit in our nephrology department. 
I also teach renal semiology to undergraduate students and renal pathology to interns and post-graduate students. I have also been a lecturer at numerous national and international scientific events. My publications focus on clinical nephrology, chronic renal failure and renal transplantation. I also contributed to the development of national best clinical practice guidelines (acute renal failure, end stage renal disease, viral hepatitis C, vascular kidney diseases, kidney transplantation and CKD) and the celebration of world kidney day since 2008.

I am a member of the transplant committee of our university hospital, member of the Communication Committee of the Moroccan society of Nephrology and General Treasurer of the Moroccan Society of Vascular Access. I am also member of the scientific committee of Maremar study, a large survey on chronic kidney disease in Morocco, sponsored by WHO, ISN, Moroccan Society of Nephrology and Moroccan Ministry of Health.
