A video showcasing the use of videolaparoscopy in the positioning and malfunction of peritoneal catheters

Introductions

80Vincenzo La MiliaThe Peritoneal Dialysis Study Group (GSDP), of the Italian Nephrology Society, sponsors this study on the use of videolaparoscopy in the positioning and revisioning of peritoneal catheters. This video fulfils the aim of the Study Group to promote peritoneal dialysis and related techniques.
Vincenzo La Milia –  Chairman of GSDP – Italy

Over the last few years, video laparoscopic surgery has become an increasingly popular surgical technique, thanks to its limited invasiveness and a much shorter post-operative course. In Peritoneal Dialysis the laparoscopic technique, to introduce the peritoneal catheter and to resolve  malfunction of catheter in situ, is gaining an increasingly important role.
