Tunneled central venous catheter for dialysis can be inserted either using a peel-away sheath or over-the-wire technique. Inserting the catheter over the wire without a peel-away sheath can potentially reduce the risk of air-embolism. Additionally, the venotomy size is relatively smaller resulting in reduction in oozing from the venotmy site post procedure. The video covers the steps used to place a tunneled catheter without a peel-away sheath.
