Creating or joining a Global Fellowship Club
Graphic Overview of Global Fellowship Clubs
General Information
In 2003, under the patronage of Professor Rashad Barsoum, the Fellowship Committee Chairman, the ISN launched the пїЅGlobal Fellowship Clubs ProgramпїЅ with the aim of re-establishing contact with all the ISN past and present fellows and to create a world wide network amongst them.
The aim of the program is for all ISN fellows from one country or region to gather together to form a club and create a Rotary-like set-up f
or
fellows to meet, interact, learn from each other, share cases and conduct
joint initiatives such as research, registries and community service. It is envisioned that the clubs meet at regular intervals f
or
scientific discussions, symposia and guest lectures, as well as f
or
social interactions. These interactions would ideally also extend to the GFCs of neighbouring countries in
or
der to achieve a truly global netw
or
k. The clubs and the ISN maintain regular communications through which the Society can call upon the Clubs as an
ideal
sounding
board f
or
advice concerning local issues and developments.
Each GFC should have at least 5 past or present fellows who are ISN members; they have an
elected
пїЅ
moderatorпїЅ who takes the administrative responsibilities and acts as a liaison officer, on behalf of the group, with ISN.
The ISN sends out пїЅGFC CircularsпїЅ to all past and present fellows, regardless of whether they are members of an established group, at regular intervals in order to keep everyone informed of important updates and the progress of the Global Fellowship Club program.
Previous Circulars can be accessed here below:
Circular 1: October 2003
Circular 2: March 2004

Special attention deserves to be drawn towards the recent creation of Dr. Vivekenand Jha, the Indian moderator of the South Asian GFC. Dr. Jha has committed an enormous amount of his personal time and efforts in constructing a dedicated website for his GFC; the website gathers articles, nephrological news updates,
links
, downloads and more impressively has a live forum for discussion groups.
