The purpose of the forum is to
develop an international standard of practice for the care of living donors, including the pre-transplant evaluation of potential donors and post-donation care. The forum participants will help develop published guidelines of care that can be implemented in their area.

Live kidney donation can make more transplants possible. The challenge is to do so with an international review that brings the proper care of the donor to attention, not as a source of an organ, but as a patient who undergoes a life giving procedure.
