Nominating Committee

General Information

The ISN Nominating Committee changes its membership every two years and leads the efforts for proper election of Directors and Officers of the Society according to the ISN bylaws.

Rashad Barsoum was recently appointed Chair of the Nominating Committee for the 2011 elections.

Activities

In preparation for the Council elections, the Nominating Committee solicits nominees from the nephrology community within their region for respective vacancies. Nominees are selected on the basis of their leadership and contributions to the progress of nephrology.

The Committee then presents a list of 3 candidates per vacancy to the ISN Council who ratifies the selection prior to the distribution of the ballot sheet to the Membership through an online voting system.

ISN 2011 Leadership Elections

The ISN Nominating Committee has launched a consultation within the whole ISN membership in preparation for the 2011 leadership election. If you have not yet done so, we would be grateful if you could take some time to submit your proposal for the nominations to the ISN 2011 leadership elections.
 
The link below will allow you to nominate one individual to the position of President Elect and/or one to the position of Councillor. If you wish to propose nominations for more than one position, please use an independent form for each.
 
Please allow approximately 20 minutes to complete the survey as you will be required to answer specific questions relative to the leadership skills and specific achievements of your nominees.

ISN 2011 Award Nominations

The International Society of Nephrology invites its membership to propose candidates for its three prestigious awards:

The Alfred Newton Richards Award, which recognizes outstanding basic research in fields relevant to nephrology. The Nominating Committee will sort the candidates according to the following criteria:

  • 50% according to the H-index.
  • 50% according to the CV, publications and relevant supporting letters, as evaluated by three external reviewers selected by the Nominating Committee according to the field of expertise of each candidate.

The Jean Hamburger Award, which recognizes outstanding research in nephrology with a clinical emphasis. Selection shall be made by the Nominating Committee according to:

  • 50% according to the H-index.
  • 50% based on the candidate’s contributions to clinical nephrology (as per his/her CV), guided by the proposer’s arguments and relevant supporting letters.

The Roscoe R. Robinson Award, which acknowledges outstanding achievements in the field of education in nephrology and medicine. Selection shall be based on appraisal of the Nominating Committee according the candidate’s contributions to education (as per his/her CV), guided by the proposer’s arguments and relevant supporting letters.
