1- HOW DO I RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP OR BECOME A NEW MEMBER?

To join ISN as a new member, please visit the 'Join ISN' page.
To renew your ISN membership, please visit the 'Membership Renewal' page.

2- WHEN WILL MY MEMBERSHIP START?

ISN Membership is valid for the calendar year (January 1 - December 31); applications are however welcomed throughout the year and access to the various ISN member benefits and services will be instated upon reception of payment.

New members who apply before September 30 will be sent all Journal editions dating back to January of that year. Applications received after that date will be activated as of January the following year.

3- WHAT IS JOINT MEMBERSHIP?

The ISN Joint Membership Program enables 2-10 individuals from emerging countries to enjoy a group ISN membership at the reduced total rate of US$ 155 per year (US$ 134 per year for discount renewal fee).

One subscription to each print edition of the society journals will be shared amongst the group members whilst online access and all other ISN benefits can be enjoyed on an individual basis.

4- IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR RENEWING MY MEMBERSHIP?

ISN Membership is valid for the calendar year (January 1 - December 31).
The renewal season runs from October 1 to January 31; the discount fee is applied only during this time. Please visit the 'Application & Renewal' section' for a more detailed time line.

5- HOW DO I CHANGE MY ACCOUNT DETAILS?

If you would like to change details of your account - such as your e-mail address and work or home address details:
• please login to the 'Edit your personal details' portal
• you may also send a brief e-mail to the ISN membership administration ([email protected]). Your request will be dealt with within the shortest delays.

6- WHAT CONTENT CAN I ACCESS ON THE NEPHROLOGY GATEWAY?

As an ISN member you can access Kidney International Online, Nature Reviews Nephrology, the membership directory and become part of the ISN online Network.

7- HOW CAN I SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEPHROLOGY GATEWAY?

To enjoy access to the member-only sections of the Gateway you must be an ISN member. Please visit the Join ISN or Membership Renewal pages for further information on how to become a member and start enjoying the many other ISN member benefits and services.

8- I AM A MEMBER OF THE ISN: HOW DO I ACCESS THE MEMBERS-ONLY SECTIONS ON THE GATEWAY?

Simply by signing in via the Sign In Box on the top left of each web page. Login details are provided in your membership confirmation email.

First-time users will be re-directed to a screen with 4 detailed steps. They will be asked to fill in their login and password again in frame 2. They will then need to check the "I agree to the ISN Network Terms and Conditions"-tickbox in frame 3. Finally they will have to click on the "Sign Up" button in frame 4.

For security and privacy reasons, only YOU know your Password. If you have forgotten it or if you encounter any problems during the log in process, please click the Forgotten password path (right below the password field). You will be asked to confirm your email address and the system will automatically  generate a new password which you will receive from Nature Publishing Group  (on behalf of ISN) at the provided email address.
After this action, If you still encounter any problem logging in please contact ISN headquarters at [email protected]

9- I'M HAVING PROBLEMS LOGGING IN VIA THE SIGN-IN AREA. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you cannot login: click on the "Forgotten your password?" link on the Sign In box. You will receive an automated e-mail containing a new password.

If you can login successfully, but cannot access restricted content, such as Full Text Kidney International Articles: send an e-mail to [email protected] containing your name, e-mail, and ISN ID number. You will receive an e-mail from the ISN's membership administration indicating that your account has been checked, your access has been granted, and reminding you of your current login name and password.

If your login does not work, please clear your web browser cache. Clearing your Web browser cache forces the browser to load the latest versions of Web pages and programs you visit.

For Internet Explorer 4.x and Up

Click "Tools" from the Internet Explorer menubar
Click "Internet Options..."
Click the "General" Tab
Click the "Delete Files" button in the "Temporary Internet files" section
If you still have a problem, repeat the steps above and restart the computer.

For Netscape 4.x and Up

Click "Edit" from the Netscape menubar
Click "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu
Expand the "Advanced" menu by clicking the triangle sign
Click "Cache"
Click both the "Clear Memory Cache" and the "Clear Disk Cache" buttons.

For Mozilla 1.x and Up

Click "Edit" from the Mozilla menubar
Click "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu
Expand the "Advanced" menu by clicking the plus sign
Click "Cache"
Click the "Clear Cache" button

For Mozilla 3.x and Up

Click "Tools" from the Mozilla menubar, then select "Clear Private Data" 
Select the "Cache" tickbox, and click on "Clear Private Data Now"

10- CAN I USE MY ISN USERNAME AND PASSWORD TO VIEW OTHER CONTENT ON NATURE.COM?

 Yes, the fact that you have an account on nature.com means you are also able to access certain content freely. Your ability to access different areas of nature.com other than the Nephrology Gateway, Kidney International, and NR Nephrology is dependent on whether you have purchased a print subscription to the relevant journal.
