Programs

As an international society, ISN helps bring the expertise of the developed world to benefit and enhance renal care and treatment in emerging economies. ISN's programs address local needs in a variety of ways. All ISN's global outreach and capacity building programs fall under the ISN-COMGAN umbrella.

CMEs
ISN's Continuing Medical Education (CME) program is among the most successful of all of the Society's undertakings. Expert speakers are selected to provide high level education at nephrological meetings in the emerging world.

Fellowships
The ISN Fellowship program is dedicated to promoting and advancing the education of physicians coming from emerging economies.

Application Deadlines:  session 1: January, 31st - session 2 : July, 31st

Sister Renal Centers Program
The Sister Renal Centers (SRC) program advances nephrology by linking renal units in the developing world with centers of excellence in the developed world.

Application Deadlines: new and upgrade applications: September, 30th

Research and Prevention Call for Proposals
The Research and Prevention Call for Proposals Program has been developed to help support selected prevention projects in developing countries on a competitive basis. It focuses specifically on screening, prevention and research.

Application Deadlines: session 1: April, 1st - session 2: October, 1st

Educational Ambassadors
The Educational Ambassadors Program is a new program; it enables centers in the developing world to request an expert to join them onsite for 1-4 weeks to provide them with very specific training or to help initiate and develop new services or community based research and screening programs.

Application Deadline: applications from emerging centers on May 1st; volunteer Educational Ambassadors can apply throughout the year.

Travel Grants
To increase accessibility, ISN provides travel grants to its biennial World Congresses of Nephrology, the annual ISN Forefronts Conferences, the Nexus Symposia, and other selected educational events of high scientific value.

Application Deadlines: check website 4-5 months prior to event date

Library Enhancement
ISN's Library Enhancement program helps institutions located in emerging economies build up their reference resources.

Application Deadlines: new applications: accepted throughout the year; biennial re-applications in December
