World Kidney Day 2010

Next World Kidney Day will be held on Thursday 10 March 2011.

The theme for 2011 focuses on the deadly link between kidney disease and heart disease, with prevention and early detection at its core.

'Protect your kidneys, Save your heart'

The mission of World Kidney Day is to increase awareness of the importance of our kidneys and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney diseases and their associated problems worldwide.

The main message is that Chronic Kidney Diseases are Common, Harmful and Treatable. World Kidney Day encourages governments worldwide to take actions for prevention and early detection.

With well over 100 countries participating, the 2010 celebrations were a tremenduous success! To get the 2011 campaign started or for more information on World Kidney Day, visit the World Kidney Day website or contact the WKD Secretariat: [email protected]

World Kidney Day is a joint initiative from the ISN and IFKF.
