The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) proudly announces the AMGEN Inc. International Prize for Therapeutic Advancement
of Nephrology – new recognition for those who have increased
the understanding and treatment of kidney disease, through basic or clinical
scientific research, leading to therapeutic advances.
The successful candidate will receive $50,000 USD and a framed certificate
with an appropriate citation.
Focus
Clinical Nephrology has seen many spectacular advances that have greatly
improved renal patient care. These include calcitriol, erythropoietin,
cyclosporine and ACE Inhibitors to mention only a few. Nominations for such
advances, among others, would be very suitable for the AMGEN Prize.
How to Apply
A complete nomination package should include:
- The full name and complete contact information for the nominee(s).
- 2. A formal letter of nomination which contains:
- a statement whether the award should be made to an individual or whether it should/could
be shared with other scientists who may or may not be included in the nomination;
- a summary of the contributions of the nominee(s)
- a description of how and why the work of the nominee(s) represents a major advance in
our understanding and treatment of kidney disease through basic or clinical scientific
research leading to therapeutic advances and distinguishing those aspects of the work of
the nominee(s) which clearly sets it apart from the work of others in the field.
- A full curriculum vitae and list of publications for the nominee(s).
- At least two letters of support for the nomination.
- The full name and complete contact information for the nominator(s).

An Advisory Committee representing members of the ISN and AMGEN Inc. will
review all nominations and make the final recommendation for the recipient(s)
of the Prize. The Prize will be presented at the ISN Congress.
