Eliminating acute kidney injury by 2025: an achievable goal

In 2015, ISN’s fight against AKI has continued to gain strength. In March, during the World Congress of Nephrology, the Lancet launched a major new Commission on the ISN 0by25 Initiative, endorsing ISN goal to eliminate preventable deaths from AKI by 2025.

The article, which appeared in the 27 June printed edition of the Lancet, was written by ISN leaders and members and presents the global challenges of the AKI burden and sets out the key goals and future activities of the 0by25 initiative.

Further insights were then written on the launch of the Commission in Capetown and ISN’s fight against AKI, among which this Comment by Richard Horton and Philippa Berman. Please also find the dedicated Offline article by The Lancet Editor-in-Chief Richard Horton.
