This presentation was given by Markus Ketteler, Head of Medicine Clinic III: Nephrology in Klinikum Coburg, Germany. It was given during the XVII International Congress on Nutrition and Metabolism in Renal Disease in Würzburg, Germany held from the 6th to the 10th of May 2014. Organised by the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism (ISRNM), the congress focused on disseminating the latest scientific advances in the field of renal nutrition and metabolism as they relate to patients with kidney diseases including chronic kidney disease (CKD) and acute kidney injury (AKI).
