Webinar: PD Access in Acute and Chronic Kidney Disease – A Nephrologists perspective (Dialysis Series)

This ISN webinar will outline peritoneal dialysis access methods, give a review of the literature in the field, discuss elements of dealing with complications and how to develop a PD access program.

Description of the Webinar

Peritoneal dialysis access placement presents a major barrier to development of peritoneal dialysis provision in both acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease. Although previously felt to be the remit of surgeons, peritoneal access can and should be managed by the nephrologist using a team based approach. It has been shown that in units where nephrologists place Tenckhoff catheters there are much higher PD penetration rates. This webinar will discuss the various aspects of peritoneal access from an interventional nephrologist’s perspective.
