About Kidney International
Kidney International (KI) is the official journal of the International Society of Nephrology. Under the editorial leadership of Dr. Detlef O. Schlondorff (USA), KI is one of the most cited journals in nephrology and widely regarded as the world’s premier journal on the development and consequences of kidney disease.
KI is peer-reviewed and publishes original research in both basic science and clinical medicine covering renal physiology, biochemistry, pathology, immunology, morphology and more. It aims to inform the renal researcher and the practicing nephrologist on all aspects of renal research. These include the latest clinical studies on emerging developments in renal medicine and the highest level of original research studies in clinical and basic renal research.
The journal reflects the field through critical reviews, commentaries, original articles, remarkable images, news features, guidelines, and problem-focused articles for the diagnosis and treatment of renal patients. Kidney International is published twice a month and devotes itself to renal research. It aims to inform the renal researcher and the practicing nephrologist on all aspects of renal research.

The Chinese edition of Kidney International (KI) is published quarterly, each edition featuring articles selected and translated by the Chinese version editorial team from recent issues of KI. Publication is supported by an educational grant from Fresenius Medical Care (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.

Japanese Edition of Kidney International
The Japanese edition of Kidney International (KI) is published quarterly, each edition featuring articles selected by the editorial team from recent issues of KI. 6,000 copies of the quarterly translated digest are distributed to nephrologists via drug reps.
Launched in 2003, the Japanese edition brings the best of recent advances in the field to our Japanese audience.
