About ISN's World Congress of Nephrology

ISN’s biennial World Congresses of Nephrology (WCN) are premiere educational events in nephrology that rotate between  continents and are organized in collaboration with local and regional nephrology societies.  The congress is targeted to the international nephrology community as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary nephrology care; thus enabling professionals from all parts of the world to exchange views on a wide variety of topics affecting nephrology and those suffering from kidney disease around the world.

The main objectives of the World Congresses of Nephrology are to:

  • Advance the education of physicians and other professionals in the care of patients with renal disease.
  • Support the development of clinical research.
  • Facilitate the delivery of high-quality healthcare to patients with kidney disease.
Provide a forum to present new ideas and treatments for kidney disease.
  • Enable scientists and physicians to interchange experiences and formulate new medical strategies.
  • Address global and ethical dilemmas facing the specialty

By bringing together practicing physicians, academics, scientists, international health authorities and clinical researchers, each Congress offers a unique global forum for a free exchange of science and medical strategy.
