YNC welcomes new chair Featured


Rolando Claure Del GranadoThe Young Nephrologists Committee (YNC) would like to welcome its new Chair Rolando Claure-Del Granado, who will take over from Jeffrey Perl. Many thanks to Jeffrey for his dedicated efforts in the last few years.

 

Perl says: “We have seen our committee grow in breadth and scope with representation from across the globe. Workshops to improve the knowledge and awareness of chronic kidney disease have taken place in China, Greece and Bolivia, with an upcoming meeting organized in Morocco soon.”

Claure-Del Granado believes the committee needs to “better evaluate and understand the needs of young physicians and scientists, especially from middle and low-income countries to improve education, research, and professional development and promote regional especially from middle and low-income countries to improve education, research, and professional development and promote regional leadership within the ISN.”

The YNC Mentoring Program also fosters international relationships between nephrologists and nephrologists-in-training or more junior nephrologists/nephrology researchers.

“We plan to improve and to expand these programs,” says Claure-Del Granado who joined the faculty of Universidad Mayor de San Simon, School of Medicine in Cochabamba, Bolivia after his ISN Fellowship. He is also a Clinical Research Investigator at the University’s Biomedical Research Institute.
