We announce with regret the death of Dr. Vince Gattone.
Dr. Gattone was joint recipient of ISNs 2013 Lillian Jean Kaplan International Prize for the Advancement in the Understanding of Polycystic Kidney Disease.
Dr. Gattone was a Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Adjunct Professor of Medicine in Nephrology, Indiana University, USA. A distinguished investigator, he developed and characterized numerous animal models that mimicked human cystic kidney disease, and allowed the identification of treatment targets, most notably the vasopressin V2-receptor antagonist, tolvaptan.
